"An optimist is a person who starts a new diet on Thanksgiving Day." - Irv Kupcinet —
Love it or hate it, every year Thanksgiving stands as the last bastion before the Christmas season truly begins. (Unless you live in Canada, where Thanksgiving is in October). The history of Thanksgiving is not nearly as "cheerful" as most folks are lead to believe, but that doesn't stop people from observing the holiday. Most Thanksgiving feasts revolve around the turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. Every family's Thanksgiving is different. Some watch football while others watch the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Both are easily enjoyed from the warmth and comfort of the sofa. Either way, the leftovers will be plentiful.
