“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.” — Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway —
For this year’s Giving Tuesday, theTUNDRA is recognizing Warren Buffett, chairman and CEO of multinational conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, which owns more than 60 companies including insurer Geico, battery maker Duracell and restaurant chain Dairy Queen. In 2010, Buffett and Microsoft founder Bill Gates launched the Giving Pledge, asking fellow billionaires to commit to donating at least half of their wealth to charitable causes, though the "Oracle of Omaha” has promised that more than 99% of his wealth will go to philanthropic efforts during his lifetime. Buffett has claimed the title of world’s wealthiest person many times, and his current net worth estimated to be near $80 billion, though the modest magnate is still living in the same Omaha, Nebraska home he bought in 1958.
