Róbert Szabó is an astronomer and the director of the Konkoly Observatory in Budapest, Hungary. His main research field is studying stellar pulsations, i.e. the voices of the stars. In 2018 he won a prestigious Lendület grant from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Konkoly Observatory: Eyes on the Cosmos - Konkoly Observatory is the Astronomical Institute of the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences, which belongs to the Eötvös Loránd Research Network. The observatory, located in Budapest (Hungary) was founded in 1899, when Miklós Konkoly Thege donated his private observatory to the state. It is the largest astronomical research institute in Hungary, and hosts the largest telescopes in the country.
