“If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” — Vincent Van Gogh

The Everyday Enthusiast Vincent Van Gogh

“If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” — Vincent Van Gogh

Happy birthday to Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh, known for his unique and expressive style of brushwork that revolutionized Western art. Van Gogh’s works are among the most expensive pieces of art ever sold — his still life painting titled "Sunflowers" sold for a record $39.85 million on this day in 1987, the 134th anniversary of his birth, stunning the packed salesroom of art buyers and Enthusiasts at Christie’s auction house. More than a century after his passing, Van Gogh’s works are still inspiring new generations of artists — the popular Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam holds the world's largest collection of his paintings and drawings.
