As 2022 kicks into gear, car enthusiasts are, quite literally, ready and raring to go with a great digital and on-site line-up of auctions and events, where the competition and crowds are lively with sellers ready to bargain in unprecedented ways. With Spring just a couple thaws away, here are a few car-related events to add to the watchlist to keep that inspiration pumped through April.

RM Sotheby’s Open Roads prides itself on being the first transcontinental online only auction, with last year’s docket featuring offerings from Italy, Germany, the U.K., and even Switzerland. This year, bidders will find a wide array of automotive memorabilia, and cars that range from the workaday Citroën 2CV to the sleek and stylish Jaguar E-Type

McCormick’s Palm Springs Collector Car Auctions have been running since the mid-80’s, and they’ve earned their reputation as a trusted partner for both buyers and sellers. Prospective owners can always come to McCormick’s in search of a great classic find, but this year, they’ll also find some big surprises: one of the auction’s no reserve cars will be the “Midnight Rider,” the Guinness World Record Holder for largest limousine.

  1. The Amelia Concours d’Elegance, March 3-6

Vintage cars galore! (Amelia Facebook)

For auction fans who want a little more Florida sunshine, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance has long been considered one of the most prestigious stops on the yearly car show circuit. In addition to the show itself, which features 27 class awards, RM Sotheby’s will be running an auction on March 5 that covers everything from pre-war masterpieces to 21st century supercars.

  1. Gooding & Company’s Geared Online, March 28-April 8

The perfect auction for all kinds of car collectors. (Gooding & Company Facebook)

After seeing some big success in Scottsdale, next up for Geared Online is an automobilia auction aimed at satisfying collectors of all kinds, so don’t worry if your budget doesn’t reach into the six-figure range. Although this auction is another online affair, potential buyers can also set up an appointment for in-person viewing at Gooding & Company’s SoCal location.

  1. 79th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, April 9-10

Line up of McLarens, what more could a car enthusiast ask for? (McLaren Auto Twitter)

You don’t have to travel all the way to the U.K. to get a taste of Goodwood, the organization that puts on the annual Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed. To kick off their 2022 season, the Goodwood Members’ Meeting will include an auction sponsored by Bonhams, which can be accessed remotely using the Bonhams app. British car enthusiasts should definitely start checking out their catalog as soon as possible, but luckily, there’s no need to book a plane ticket.
