Come on ya’ll! Fittingly, Barrett Jackson is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a 2022 auction collections lineup that’s more luxurious, rare, and ultra-vintage than the 49 years that preceded this year’s Scottsdale show that opened last weekend, with bids live through this coming Sunday, January 29th.
What vehicles are rumored to be the hot ticket items for the Barrett-Jackson’s 50th Anniversary auction this year?

Buster Posey’s 1967 Ford Mustang - Eleanor Tribute Edition
Details: Lot #1377 - Built piece by piece by East Bay Muscle Cars of Brentwood, California. This one-of-a-kind 1967 Ford Mustang was owned by Buster Posey, MLB superstar and vintage car collector. The 4-speed automatic Pro-Touring muscle car is an 8 cylinder boss with sleek black interior and powered by an aluminum-block Jon Kaase Racing Engines Modern Boss Nine V8 engine (Source: Barrett Jackson official website).

1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing
Details: Lot #1415 - Ultra-rare 300SL Gullwing Coup, known as the world’s first super car. At the time if production the 300SL was the fastest car on the road. Limited in production, only 855 were produced in 1955. This gullwing was delivered to its initial owner, the former Ministry of Police in Havana, Cuba, on June 16, 1955, and was rallied in the early part of its life by Santiago "Chaquito" Gonzales, a professional race car driver. This iconic vehicle only has a mere 59,365 miles clocked and will be the one to watch at the auction.

Bret Michaels Lincoln Continental – includes signed guitar
Details: Lot #3003.1 - Music icon Bret Michaels' Bentley Continental GT. The glamorous and easy to drive vehicle was produced in custom Moonbeam Silver with 552 HP at 6,100 rpm. The rockstar-worthy Bentley is dressed head to tire in custom features including a premium sound system and LCD monitor. Michaels has also included a signed “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” custom guitar to go perfectly with this luxury vehicle.

Buick Grand National “The Last Grand National”
Details: Lot #1347 - Built in 1987, the Buick Grand National holds the title “The Last Grand National” due to this particular car to roll off production lines of GM’s Buick last in mid-size rear-wheel-drive G Platform. A sentimental piece of history, this vehicle has a signed motor of the crew who decided to autograph the engine as it finished production.

Burt Reynolds’ 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SE
Details: Lot #1421 - When high-performance meets big name celebrity status you get this high value 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This particular model needed no added marketing sparkle, but received it when it starred in “Smokey and the Bandit” film starring Burt Reynolds. This 3-speed automatic includes an engraved dedication plate on the driver side door along with a copy of Burt Reynolds' "But Enough About Me" autobiography, plus a late-1970s style "Trans Am" jacket and "Bandit" cowboy hat (Barrett-Jackson official website).
Details: Lot #418 - Scooby Dooby Doo! Wowza… The Barrett-Jackson is blessed once again with a Mystery Machine re-creation. This time, bidders will have the chance to take home a 1968 Ford Econoline "Mystery Machine" van re-creation, powered by a 302ci V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission and is finished in the same movie color scheme and prints. But what good is a mystery machine without a ghost finder? Fear not, this vehicle is equipped with a “ghost finder” and strobe lights to boot!

1965 Ford Shelby GT350
Details: Every once in a while auction-goers are lucky enough to a car that is both incredibly beautiful and incredibly fast. The 1965 Ford Shelby GT350 is a highly desired model for its history in SCCA B-Production road racing and known as the “Corvette Killer” in drag racing. Previous owner race car driver Jerry Mendes drove this beauty at NHRA record breaking speeds accelerating at 12.38 seconds to reach 110.83 mph. In pristine condition, this vintage collector car is a showroom dream.

1965 Shelby Cobra Super Snake 427 CSX 4404
Details: Lot #1375 - The winner of the Shelby Cobra Super Snake will own a piece of history with the 1960’s classic. Carroll Shelby created the Cobra line with high-performance racing vehicles like the super Snake series dubbed the "Cobra to end all Cobras." There are only two original Super Snakes produced in the 1960’s time period, the CSX 3015 in Carroll Shelby’s collection and another CSX 3303 that ceases to exist. This CSX, however was restored and completed in 2012. Draped in Guardsman Blue this model is easy on the eyes and will go up for auction on Saturday, January 29th.
