The 2021 Formula One Grand Prix in Austin is set to kick off this Sunday, October 24, 2021, and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting events of the year. Not only is it the first time since the pandemic that the United States will be hosting an F1 event, but with exciting drivers like Lewis Hamilton, who currently holds the record for most F1 wins, it is sure to turn some heads.
With that being said, F1, like all racing events, is nothing without the cars themselves. After all, it is a racing event, so automobiles would be at least somewhat important. But, of all the cars at the race, there are select few that we’re most excited about.
Mercedes W12 (driven by Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas)

Just like its predecessor, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W11 EQ Performance, the Mercedes W12 is the first and last name in state-of-the-art performance. Bespoke with incredible power beneath the hood, like a 1.6 L V6 mid-engine that can clock in at 1,050 horsepower, has a top speed of 312 MPH, and a sexy black chassis with turquoise highlights, this behemoth is currently driven by champions Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, both of whom are some of the best drivers in the history of F1 racing.
Like its siblings in the same brand line, many features were carried over from the previous car, but given huge upgrades, like the new angled front wing that increases aerodynamics significantly, or the front brake ducts that have been increased in size to create more airflow. In the right hands, this car is sure to be a showstopper at this upcoming event.
Red Bull Racing RB16 (driven by Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon

Like other top Formula One Grand Prix cars, the Red Bull Racing RB16 is both a monster in specifications and a beauty in looks. Currently driven by Red Bull Racing Team’s Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon, this baby makes use of the new Honda RA621H 1.6 L engine, which is a V6 turbocharged engine, similar to its predecessors. It clocks in at 740 braking horsepower, a carbon fiber chassis, and is rear-wheel drive.
McLaren MCL35 (Lando Norris)

Driven by British-Belgian driver Lando Norris, the McLaren MCL35 is faster and better than its predecessor, the MCL34, and is just about guaranteed to drop jaws this year. The MCL35’s development experienced a bit of turbulence given that substantial changes had to be made after the McLaren team decided to reuse previous designs. This year’s model is complete with a carbon fiber composite chassis and a Mercedes-AMG F1 M12 E Performance engine, which clocks in at 740 brake horsepower and 349 KPH top speed, making it a real devil on the race track.

The Alpine A521’s raw power is as slick and sexy as its red white and blue color scheme. Designed by Alpine F1 Team, this car is currently driven by Alpine team’s Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon. It comes with a Renault E-Tech 20B 1.6 L turbocharged engine that clocks in at 950 horsepower and has a top speed of 324 kph, making it an absolute threat on the pavement.
Aston Martin AMR21 (driven by Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll

Designed by Aston Martin Formula One Team and driven by Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll, the Aston Martin AMR21 comes with a Mercedes-AMG F1 M12 E Performance engine and weighs in at 1,658 pounds. It has a total BHP of 161 and can hit a top speed of 314 kph. Talk about a killer race car!
