With all due respect recognizing today’s critical geo-political world environment, it’s also important to take a moment to explore the light and the light-hearted, which, like tragedy, has the power to unite as well.  Few things have the power-to-ponder than a great quote, which is the reason TUNDRA's launching a weekly best of BEYOND THE WORDS series featuring a few of the most memorable statements made by those in the know – with Elon’s Twitter buy no doubt he has plans to keep bringing it. That’s the thing about that guy – in terms of entertainment value, he rarely disappoints.

"Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in"Elon Musk

The only boy in the school who owns his own rocket, car, brain chip, and social media companies tweeted this gem the other day. Musk is a futuristic throwback – early days (circa 1885), Coca-Cola’s ingredients included coca leaf extract – imagine what he’ll say when the techie owns the platform. We can’t wait

“People should be optimistic about the future.”Elon Musk

Musk has made so much news in the past few weeks that it’s difficult to fathom. The biggest news of course being the purchase of Twitter for $44 billion, as well as his plan to take the company private.

Nothing says optimism like singularly powerful man taking control of a powerful communication/social media platform into his own hands. But the irreverent billionaire has assured everyone that he is actually looking to tick everyone off in equal measure. Next on tap: Elon Musk, Host of NBC’s The Tonight Show – he’s gonna own you, Fallon!

“96% of American Drivers Don’t Understand Their Car Insurance Policies”Business Wire

A recent survey found that most people who have car insurance do not really understand their policies as well as they may think. The study was conducted with over 1,000 people and found that “96% of drivers misunderstand at least one key aspect of their car insurance policy, and more than half have false assumptions about multiple features of their coverage.”

This is very disquieting considering shopping carts boasting car insurance promotional signage scattering aimlessly throughout your local supermarket parking lot – does your insurance cover rolling catastrophes? It’s anarchy out there!

“Ferrari has been spotted testing a camouflaged Roma sporting a V-12 engine.”
Motor Authority

It looks as though Ferrari is testing a successor to the vaunted 812 Superfast. The V12 beast that set the supercar world on fire in 2017 is getting a revamp just in time to compete with the new V12 Vantage announce last year by Aston Martin. As traditional combustion engines are being phased out this should be an interesting time for big engine supercars.

Were F-150’s made for stunts? We don’t think so. (Photo: Car and Driver)

“I aimed for 60 but it may have gotten beyond…unfortunately I landed a perfect pancake / all 4 wheels at the same time.” - Caz

A few Ford F-150 Raptor enthusiasts were messing around on some jumps in Virginia with an Instagrammer named Caz going little too fast over the hump, and…he (sadly) broke his back, while the rest of us over 40 were presuming folks that buy the most powerful version of the F-150 are doing it so they can responsibly drive the car.

See you next week!
