The Boston Bruins made it to the Second Round last season but they were no match for the eventual Stanley Cup champions. It’s why they were one of the most active teams this offseason. They added talent to the defense and the middle of the roster with the urge to get this group to the Cup.

Everything You Need To Know

  • This team lost Jake DeBrusk in the offseason but they added two-way center Elias Lindholm while also signing stay-at-home defenseman Nikita Zadorov. The two players are integral to a playoff run.
  • The core is great with David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and Charlie McAvoy leading them but they also have plenty of depth as well. The Bruins not only have four great forward lines and three reliable defensive pairings but also one of the better farm systems in the league.
  • The only question is goaltending. Jeremy Swayman still needs to sign a long-term deal and the backup is Joonas Korpisalo. That’s not a great combo.

Projection

The Bruins will once again be one of the best teams in the NHL. The question they’ll ask themselves is how they can get over the hump. That’s where the trade deadline might come into play for them.
