L.A. Marathon 2018

I think the most challenging part of 00:11 running the marathon is the mental 00:12 aspect because you know you've trained 00:14 up into this point in order to make sure 00:17 that everything goes right but you know 00:19 at some point you know your body is 00:23 telling you to stop running these over 00:47 your Tompkins ania team my son had his 00:50 fragile X syndrome which is a genetic 00:52 disorder and so he's kind of our 00:54 inspiration 00:57 ladies and gentlemen every year 01:12 something different I am ready I feel 01:15 like I'm ready all right but you never 01:17 know what happens on the court you just 01:19 being in the moment 01:22 [Music] 01:25 yeah 01:29 [Applause] 01:32 a Bosch post in LA Marathon we're here 01:38 at the iconic 01:38 and the epic rodeo driver you can find 01:41 designers at YSL Chanel products you 01:43 name it they're all here 01:45 I made this sign so everyone would think 01:48 that they're my favorite runner it's 01:50 just kind of breaks up their monotony of 01:52 step after step after step when people 01:55 are cheering for them first part of the 01:57 road is a people that is 14 each mile 02:00 you cannot fail you can it's a turn here 02:04 we are with friends and family at the 02:05 finish line the LA Marathon with over 02:08 24,000 runners they did their best and 02:10 they got here within six hours just 02:12 about one thing we can say is that the 02:14 LA Marathon has taught us that by the 02:16 time spectator sport jump in there get 02:18 in there 02:19 you can finish the marathon you'll feel 02:21 better actually they compete in school 02:22 it gives you more motivation it's just 02:24 helped them get more 02:27 confidence I think it's a if it's an 02:29 opportunity everybody should should go 02:31 for you know once you're older like me 02:34 it's harder to convince yourself to on 02:36 that distance 02:38

At 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, more than 24,000 athletes from 50 states and more than 63 countries gathered at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles to run more than 26 miles throughout LA to the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica.
