Au Revoir, Paris: Hello LA!
When the Paris 2024 Olympic games came to a close last night, fans worldwide woke up today with the kind of sadness one feels when a great project, or, in this instance, an AMAZING two-week tradition-spectacle, comes to a close. While Paris 2024 brought highlights that were uniquely “Parisian,” adding to the event’s entertainment value, the true piece de resistance had more to do with the Olympic's unique affect on humanity, a spirit connecting us with one another; sport is a lot like music that way – we enter a stadium as strangers, and through the shared experience, we leave the venue as friends, regardless of which team we’re rooting for. As an LA-based network, for the past six years we’ve been watching this city prepare to host the Summer 2028 Olympics. And in this town that defines popular culture as the world knows it, we now have something new to look forward to, and isn’t that what sports is all about?
