The twenty-day long Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo kicks off today in the Lone Star State, with more than two million Enthusiasts expected to attend the event before its closing day on March 22. The largest indoor livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world, the HLSR is an annual, family-friendly experience that was originally founded in 1932. Featuring rodeo action, livestock competitions and barbecue competitions, the HLSR truly has something for everyone. The event is headlined by some of the biggest names in country music, including Willie Nelson, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley — with each performer taking the stage after an intense rodeo.
“It's the ropes and the reins, and the joy and the pain. And they call the thing rodeo.” —
